MADISON, N.J. - FDU-Florham's Adam Katz sank the go-ahead basket with 1:15 remaining as the Devils erased a late Lebanon Valley lead to win, 59-57, Wednesday night.
FDU-Florham (1-16) won for the first time this season with a balanced scoring effort and a 19-for-26 night at the line, while the Dutchmen (6-12) lost their eighth straight.
Sean MacIntosh scored a game-high 17 points, including three from the outside, to lead LVC, and
Joe Meehan had 10 points and nine assists.
Danny Brooks added eight points off the bench.
Adam Katz drained 13 off the bench to lead FDU, and Andrew Biancosino had 10 points and eight rebounds to complement Ricky Fetske's 9-point, 7-rebound game.
It was a back-and-forth game from start to finish, and LVC rallied back from an eight-point halftime deficit with an 8-0 run midway through the second half to take a five-point lead with 6:33 left.
FDU hit back with a 5-1 spurt that cut LVC's lead to 56-55 with 2:27 left, punctuated by Fetske's dunk and a go-ahead layup by Adam Katz with 1:41 to go.
Meehan tied the game at 57 with a foul shot seconds later, but Katz put the Devils ahead again witha jumper 1:15 from the end.
LVC had two chances to tie or go ahead in the final minute, first when
Grant Becker's shot missed and then again with Meehan on the line for two missed foul shots with two seconds left.
Lebanon Valley will start the second half of Commonwealth Conference play Saturday at Arcadia.
