#7 LVC Tops Albright For Program's 500th Win

Box Score

READING, Pa.
- #7 Lebanon Valley scored four unanswered second-half goals and freshman Caitlin Vasey notched her first career hat trick as LVC beat Albright, 6-1, to win its 500th game in program history.

The Dutchmen (7-1, 2-0 CC) are now 500-310-67 all-time since the program's inception in 1933. Earlier in the day, LVC moved up a spot to seventh in the NFHCA/Kookaburra National Top 20 Poll, the 52nd consecutive poll to include the Dutchmen.

Vasey had a seven-point game, scoring three times and adding an assist off the bench, while Shelly Lobach scored a goal and had two helpers to bring her career points total to 95.

Albright (4-6, 1-1 CC) played a tough first half, repelling 14 of LVC's 22 total shots in the frame as they worked to a 2-1 halftime score. The Dutchmen needed just eight second-half shots to score four more goals.

Kaitlyn Johnstone made 12 saves, including nine in the first half, to keep Albright close. Caitlin Baro stopped four to earn the win.

Avery Carter started the scoring with a penalty stroke at 7:20, and Vasey notched her first at 17:43 after Jocelyn Novak hit her with a quick pass in front of the cage.

Albright cut the lead in half moments later, however, thanks to Gia Boscola's goal from Caitlin Feldman.

But the second half would be all LVC, first when Lobach converted Rachel Pantalone's long pass 2:55 into the half, and then on back-to-back Vasey goals 1:38 apart. Allison Bicher finished the scoring with a goal at 55:52 off assists by Lobach and Vasey.

LVC will visit FDU-Florham on Thursday.
