READING, Pa. - Lebanon Valley cruised to its fourth win a row to open the 2009 season, blanking Albright 9-0 in Commonwealth Conference women's tennis play Thursday.
The Dutchmen (4-0, 2-0 CC) swept doubles and then won all six singles flights in straight sets over the Lions (1-3, 0-2 CC).
Sarah Grodzinski and
Shayna Heintzelman teamed up for an 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles over Lisa Archibald and Ashley Woodcock, and
Tamera Lobb and
Lauren Fulmer beat Anna Berzins and Desiree Owle, 8-4, at No. 2 doubles. At No. 3,
Morgan Brady and
Jess Ferlenda beat Brittiney Boyle and Shaunte Allen, 8-2.
In singles play, Grodzinski topped Archibald, 6-0, 6-3, at No. 1, and Heintzelman topped Berzins 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2. Lobb beat Owle 6-1, 6-3 at No. 3, Fulmer beat Woodcock 6-0, 6-1 at No. 4, Brady defeated Jessica Gordon 6-1, 6-4 at No. 5, and Ferlenda topped Missy Yake 6-0, 6-1 at No. 6.
LVC will host Cabrini on Saturday.
