ANNVILLE, Pa. - Lebanon Valley tied a program record for free throws made as it cruised into the final of the Rinso Marquette Tournament with an 81-43 victory over Clarkson Friday night.
The Dutchmen (3-0) will meet Delaware Valley (2-0) in the final on Saturday at 3 p.m. The Aggies were a 73-54 winner over Neumann (1-1) in the nightcap Friday night. The championship will be a rematch of the 2005-06 final, which Del Val won 79-62. Lebanon Valley has made it to the final in all seven years of the Marquette women's tournament's existence.
Neumann will meet Clarkson in the consolation at 1 p.m.
Lebanon Valley shot 31-for-38 at the line, tying the program record for free throws in a game set against Messiah in 1993.
Eryn Schultz poured in 25 points for LVC, including 9-of-10 shooting at the line four three-pointers, and the junior also grabbed seven rebounds.
Suzie Noyes and
Andrea Hoover added 14 and 13 points, respectively, as LVC cleared its bench for the second half.
Liz Borgia (9 pts, 10 rbs) and
Lindsey Nies (7 pts) were the leaders off the bench.
Michelle Reddinger paced Clarkson (0-2) with a 13-point, 10-rebound double-double. The Golden Knights shot just 27.8 percent, including 3-for-14 for three, and committed 25 turnovers.
Clarkson led in the early moments but fell behind on a 12-2 LVC run early in the first half. Consecutive layups by Schultz and a fastbreak bucket by Nies put Clarkson in a nine-point hole, and that deficit ballooned to 27 when Schultz canned a three-pointer to finish the half, capping a 31-9 run over the final 10 minutes. Turnovers hurt Clarkson in the first half, with 19 of LVC's 49 first-half points coming off giveaways.
The LVC lead never fell below 26 in the second half, and went as high as 41 in the final moments as LVC went 17-of-18 at the line in the second half.

In the nightcap, Delaware Valley's Kim Vennera drained 20 points and Brittney Zimmerman had 19 points and seven rebounds to lead the Aggies over Neumann, 73-54. Neumann shot just 23.1 percent from the floor, including 4-of-31 for three, and both teams combined for 53 turnovers. Neumann's Brittany Whetts had a 15-12 double-double.
