FROSTBURG, Md. -
Lebanon Valley College opened play at the Frostburg Quad with a 3-1 (25-9, 22-25, 25-13, 25-14) win over Neumann on Friday night. The win is the 20th this season for LVC, upping the Dutchmen's record to 20-1.

Joelle Snyder was the leading attacker for LVC, finishing with 13 kills. Emily Hopkins was a solid option for the Dutchmen with nine kills. Jess Raber sent home eight kills for the Dutchmen while Michelle Little finished the match with seven.

The first set was back and forth early with three lead changes before LVC put things away with a 14-3 run to close out the set.

In the second set, Neumann never trailed. The Knights held early 9-4 and 16-12 leads, but a 7-3 stretch in favor of LVC tied the match 19-19. The Dutchmen were close again at 23-22, but the Knights put away two points to square the match.

The final two sets would not be nearly as close. The third frame saw Lebanon Valley sprint out to a 6-0 lead and extend it to 13-4 before claiming a 2-1 match lead with a 25-13 win of the set. In the fourth and final set, the Dutchmen again led 13-4 and turned that into a 23-8 advantage before finishing the match off.

Once again, the serving game was a key component of LVC's play. Raber dialed up four aces while Angela Kuperavage and Emily Perkins each served up a pair.

Kuperavage and Perkins turned their serve game into effective defense, with each being involved with double-digits in digs. Kuperavage had a team-high 15 while Perkins added 12. Hannah Free was in on the action as well with 10.

Perkins played the role of primary setter, dishing out 41 assists.

Jamie Hawk was the key player on LVC's block with two solo stops and three block assists. Raber continued to fill up the box score with two block assists to solidify her well-rounded game.

The Dutchmen finish the quad match against Bridgewater (Va.) at 11 a.m. and host Frostburg State (1 p.m.) on Saturday.
