ANNVILLE, Pa. - For three straight matches, LVC has faced off against an undefeated opponent, and for three straight matches, the Dutchmen have walked away with a victory, this time a 7-2 win against King's.
The Dutchmen (8-0) extended their best-ever start while the Monarchs (7-1) lost for the first time.
Sarah Grodzinski and
Shayna Heintzelman won 8-4 at No. 1 doubles over Jillian Tallarico and Diana Darby, and
Lauren Fulmer and
Tamera Lobb picked up a key win at No. 2, 9-7, over Christy Rossowski and Lauren Breen. King's picked up a point with a victory at No. 3, 8-6, as Maria Cometa and Courtnay Wilson beat
Morgan Brady and
Jess Ferlenda.
In singles, Grodzinski won a tight tiebreaker at No. 1, outlasting Tallarico 6-0, 2-6, 10-6, and Heintzelman cruised at No. 2, 6-1, 6-0, over Wilson. Lobb topped Rossowski at No. 3, 6-1, 6-1, while Rachel Hoffnagle got King's lone singles point with a 6-2, 7-5 win over
Caitlin Bedford at No. 4.
Fulmer improved to 8-0 with 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 5 over Breen, and Brady finished the win off with a 6-4, 7-5 victory over Cometa at No. 6.
LVC heads to Susquehanna Sunday.
