Box Score
ANNVILLE, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall shot a remarkable 61.1 percent from the floor while holding LVC to under 30 percent as the Diplomats eased by LVC, 70-49, in a non-conference game Saturday.
For the Dutchmen (11-5, 4-1 Commonwealth), it was simply not their day as seemingly nothing worked offensively. The Dips (8-8, 5-4 Centennial) took just 36 shots, but sank 22 of them, and won by 21 despite committing 20 turnovers.
Beth Holt led all scorers with 20 points, and Sarah Meisenberg had 17. Cara Landolfi had a double-double of 10 points and 12 boards.
For LVC,
Andrea Hoover was a bright spot with 16 points on 7-of-9 shooting, including making her first six shots.
Eryn Schultz added nine points.
In their worst shooting performance of the season, the Dutchmen were just 18-of-64, including 3-for-21 from three-point range.
Most of F&M's lead was built in the second half after a tight first period. LVC took a three-point lead with 6:05 left on
Lori Lidlow's trey, but was then held scoreless for the next 5:37 until Lidlow made a layup for the final basket of the half. In the meantime, Holt had sank consecutive three-pointers to spark a 9-0 run that took a 25-21 lead into the half.
The Dutchmen battled back to cut the lead to four early in the second, but F&M pulled away with another run, this time holding LVC scoreless for nearly four minutes in the middle of the half to go up 11.
From there, it was a matter of LVC not making shots and F&M not missing, and the Dip lead ballooned to 21 late in the game.
Lebanon Valley will return to conference play Wednesday, hosting Widener at 6 p.m.
