ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - Lebanon Valley College picked up a key Commonwealth Conference win Saturday, getting past Elizabethtown College 7-2 in women's tennis.
The Dutchmen (5-1, 2-0 CC) exacted a bit of revenge on the defending conference champion Blue Jays (0-2, 0-2 CC), the team it lost to in last year's conference championship match.
After winning Nos. 2 and 3 at doubles, LVC took five of six singles flights, led by
Sarah Grodzinski's 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 1 over Emily Swarr, an opponent she lost to in the regular season last year.
Charissa Nordall won a hardfought No. 3 match, 3-6, 6-4, 10-1 over Jessica Russell, while
Sammy Burkey,
Shayna Heintzelman, and
Sara Wagner all won at the bottom of the order.
LVC heads to Cabrini College on Tuesday afternoon.
