LANDISVILLE, Pa. - The Lebanon Valley College women's tennis team advanced to the Commonwealth Conference championship game as it cruised to a 5-1 victory over Messiah College Saturday in the CC semifinal at Hempfield Area Courts.
The Dutchmen (18-3) won two of the three doubles points, then won three singles points to end the tournament-format match.
Sammy Burkey won at No. 4 and Shayna Heintzelman at No. 6, and Leslie Sabas broke the program record for wins in a season with 19 thanks to her win at No. 2, which ended the match.
In doubles, Charissa Nordall and Kelly Moll won at No. 3 as Nordall tied the career record for doubles wins with her 33rd.
LVC will now face Elizabethtown College, a team it narrowly lost to, 5-4, in the fall, in the CC Championship match Sunday at 10 a.m. at Hempfield.
