LVC Falls to F&M In Thriller, 72-68

Box Score

LANCASTER, Pa.
- Kyle Enoch drained 24 points, but it wasn't enough as Lebanon Valley fell to Franklin & Marshall in a thriller, 72-68, at the Mayser Center Tuesday night.

The Dutchmen (1-3) never led and squandered two chances to tie the game with less than a minute to go. The Diplomats (3-0) nearly blew a 12-point second-half lead.

Dan Dunkelberger added 14 points and seven rebounds for LVC, which as a team had another good night at the line, making 19 of 21. James McNally led F&M with 19 points, seven boards and three blocks, and Mike Baker added 16 points.

LVC just about erased a 12-point lead midway through the second half, holding F&M scoreless over a four-minute span during an 11-0 run that was capped by an Anthony Trautman jumper and a pair of foul shots by Enoch.

It was a battle from there as F&M refused to relinquish the lead. The Dips went up six on Clay Scovill's free throws with 2:15 remaining, but Dunkelberger sank a pair 18 seconds later, and Eric Humphrey added a layup with 1:18 to go to pull to 70-68.

Out of a Diplomat timeout, Anthony Brooks turned the ball over to Dunkelberger, but Enoch's shot was off the mark, forcing LVC to foul. Brooks went to the line and made just one shot, giving LVC a chance to tie with a three-point, but Dan Hodge turned the ball over to Brooks on the inbounds play, and Brooks made one free throw with 15 seconds left to go up four and ice the game.

LVC will return home to face #12 Ursinus Sunday at 4 p.m.
