ANNVILLE, Pa. - The Lebanon Valley College women's tennis team dropped its first match of the season, falling 7-2 to Wilkes University on Sunday.
The Dutchmen (3-1, 1-0 Commonwealth) got a win each at doubles and singles.
Juniors Charissa Nordall and Kelly Moll got LVC its first point as they beat Michelle Knight and Katie Buckley, 8-3, at No. 3 singles.
Freshman Shayna Heinzelman provided the other Dutchman point with a 7-5, 6-4 win at No. 5 singles over Knight. LVC fought hard at other singles positions, including Moll's 1-6, 6-2, 6-0 loss at No. 3 and Nordall's 6-7 (5-7), 1-6 loss at No. 4.
LVC will continue its season Sunday at Juniata College at noon.
