ANNVILLE, Pa. – The No. 11-ranked Lebanon Valley College field hockey team defeated Albright College 3-0 in a Commonwealth Conference match at the LVC Field Hockey Stadium Thursday afternoon.
Senior Claire Behney gave Lebanon Valley (6-1, 1-1) all the scoring it would need when she scored her second goal of the season with 26:41 left in the first half. Shortly thereafter, a lightning delay halted the action for 20 minutes before play resumed.
Although LVC out-shot Albright (2-6, 0-3 CC) 19-1 in the opening period, the Dutchwomen led just 1-0 at the intermission.
Lebanon Valley put the match away with 18:22 left, when sophomore Alex Wolfe scored her second goal of the year. Junior Christine Schairer provided the finishing touches when she converted a penalty stroke for her first goal of the season.
Senior Katie Pawlewicz stopped three shots to earn her third shutout of the season for LVC while Logan Nickerson registered 12 saves for the Lady Lions.
Lebanon Valley hosts DeSales University on Saturday at 11 a.m. in a non-conference outing during Homecoming.
