Men’s Golf Battles Through Tough Conditions at Elizabethtown Invitational

HERSHEY, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley men's golf team finished 10th out of 12 teams on a cold, damp, and dreary Thursday at the Elizabethtown Spring Invitational on the tough course of Hershey Country Club East.
 
The Dutchmen had seven golfers competing at the event, with five recording scores between 84 and 88. McDaniel College's Ethan Crabb won medalist honors with a two-over 73 on the par-71 course. There was a four-way tie for second place at 75. McDaniel won the team title with a score of 307. Dickinson College's "B" team was second at 318, while Moravian University and Salisbury University tied for third with scores of 321. LVC recorded a round of 344.
 
Inside the Results
  • Reagan Flynn led LVC with an 84 to finish 28th in the field of 62 golfers. The sophomore had a rough front nine with a 45 but came back strong on the back nine, posting a four-over 39. He carded eight pars on the round, with six of the eight coming on holes seven through 13.
  • Brady Keath recorded a round of 86 to finish tied for 34th. The first-year had a 41 on the front nine with a 45 on the back nine holes. Keath posted eight pars on the afternoon, including four on holes six through 10.
  • Brayden Herr was a stroke back with an 87 to finish tied for 40th. The sophomore had a birdie on the par-five first hole and then added three pars on holes eight through 11. He finished with a 41 on the front nine holes and a 46 on the back nine.
  • Max Fisher also carded an 87 to finish tied for 40th. The first-year had a 45 on the front nine and a 42 on the back nine. He recorded six pars, including three consecutive to start the back nine.
  • Trenton Wagner played as an individual and recorded an 88 to finish tied for 45th. The sophomore had three pars with two coming on back-to-back holes at 13 and 14. He posted a 46 on the front nine holes and a 42 on the back nine.
  • Brody Rafferty finished tied for 58th with a 96. He struggled on the front nine with a 49 and had a 47 on the back nine. The first-year had two pars for the afternoon.
  • Grady Olson also had a 96 playing as an individual to finish tied for 58th. The first year led the Dutchmen with two birdies, recording threes on the par-four ninth and 11th holes. He added three pars and had a 52 on the front nine with a 44 on the back nine.
Up Next
LVC will be off until Monday, April 13, when they will begin play at Lancaster Bible's Charger Invitational. The two-day event will take place on LVC's home course at Lebanon Country Club. The Invitational will have a 12 p.m. shotgun start.
