EASTON, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley men's golf team began the year strong as four of the five golfers shot in the 70s to finish with a score of 308 at the Northampton Cup on Tuesday in the season opener at Northampton Country Club in Easton.
Marymount University won the team title with a score of 290 while host Albright College was second with a score of 300. There were three teams tied for third with scores of 302: Albright, Alvernia University, and Moravian University. LVC was tied for sixth with Moravian's "B" team. Marymount's Tanner Currie and Albright's Archie Stoner tied for the lowest round of the day as each carded a two-under 70.
Inside the Results
- Brady Keath was the top Dutchmen finisher with a 75. The sophomore was two-over on the front nine with a 38 and carded a one-over 37 on the back nine. He posted 14 pars and a birdie on the par-five second hole.
- Reagan Flynn was right behind him with a 77. The junior shot a 41 on the front nine and came back strong with an even-par 36 on the back nine. He posted 11 pars and two birdies on the par-five seventh hole and the par-four 12th hole.
- Brody Rafferty also carded a 77. The sophomore carded a 38 on the front nine and a 39 on the back nine. He had eight pars and three birdies. Rafferty recorded birdies on the par-four fifth hole, the par-four 10th hole, and the par-three 16th hole.
- Brayden Herr finished with a 79 to give LVC four golfers under 80. The junior had a 40 on the front nine and a 39 on the back nine holes. He posted nine pars and two back-to-back birdies on the par-three fourth hole and the par-four fifth hole.
- Max Fisher rounded out the LVC golfers with an 82. The sophomore had a 42 on the front nine and a 40 on the back nine. He recorded seven pars and a birdie on the par-five 11th hole.
