Fisher Leads Men’s Golf on First Day of Franklin & Marshall Invitational

LANCASTER, Pa. – Max Fisher carded a five-over par 76 to lead the Lebanon Valley men's golf team on Sunday afternoon as the Dutchmen are ninth after the first round of the Franklin & Marshall Spring Invitational at Bent Creek Country Club in Lancaster.
 
The host Diplomats have the top two teams in the 15-team event, as their "A" team had a score of 284 and the "B" team recorded a score of 308 on Sunday. Alvernia University is third at 310. The Dutchmen are ninth at 324. F&M have the top three golfers in the field of 78, led by Max Silverman, who was five-under par with a 66. Oliver Clark is second with a one-under 70, while Wayne He carded an even par 71.
 
Inside the Results
  • Fisher is tied for 10th in the field with his 76. He had a strong start with a one-under 34 on the front nine and then recorded a 42 on the back nine. Fisher birdied the par-three second hole and the par-four 17th hole while posting 11 pars on the round, including eight on the front nine.
  • Reagan Flynn and Brayden Herr each carded an 82 to sit in a tie for 39th. Both golfers had a 42 on the front nine and were a four-over 40 on the back nine. Herr recorded three birdies, on the par-four fifth hole, the par-four 10th hole, and the par-four 14th hole, and seven pars. Flynn had eight pars and two birdies on the fifth hole and the par-five 12th hole.
  • Brady Keath posted an 84 and is tied for 50th. The first-year had nine pars on the round and carded a 43 on the front nine with a 41 on the back nine.
  • Brody Rafferty finished with a 90 as LVC's fifth golfer. He had a 44 on the front nine and a 46 on the back nine with seven pars.
  • Lukas Bartek carded a 94 with a birdie on the 12th hole and five pars. He had a 50 on the front nine and a 44 on the back nine.
  • Trenton Wagner had a round of 96 with a 50 on the front nine and a 46 on the back nine. He posted six pars.
  • Deakon Schaeffer finished with a 97, recording four pars. He had a 49 on the front nine and a 48 on the back nine.
The Dutchmen will be back at Bent Creek tomorrow afternoon for the final round of the invitational and the team's final round before next weekend's conference championship. Monday's round will begin with a shotgun start at 12 p.m. in Lancaster.
