LEBANON, Pa. – Lebanon Valley men's golf sophomore
Brayden Herr carded a 79 at the Lebanon Country Club on Monday afternoon to lead 10 Dutchmen on the first day of the Charger Invitational.
LVC has two teams in the event that is being played on their home course, but is being hosted by Lancaster Bible College. The "A" team carded a score of 329 and is fifth out of six teams. They also had a 329 a couple of weeks ago at Lebanon Country Club in LVC's annual home spring invitational. The "B" team is sixth with a score of 355. Marymount University is leading after the first day with a score of 307. Penn State Harrisburg is second with a score of 310, Lancaster Bible is third at 314, and Penn State Berks is fourth with a score of 316. There is a four-way tie for medalist honors with the top golfer of the top four teams each recording a two-over 74 on the par 72 course.
Inside the Results
- Herr was seven-over par with 12 pars and is tied for ninth out of 38 golfers. The sophomore had seven consecutive pars on holes one through seven. He was a one-over 37 on the front nine with a 42 on the back nine.
- Regan Flynn carded an 81 with two birdies on the afternoon and is tied for 14th. The sophomore had back-to-back birdies on the par-five seventh hole and the par-four eighth hole. He carded seven pars and was a two-over 38 on the front nine holes with a 43 on the back nine.
- Brody Rafferty is 22nd with an 84. He had seven pars and one birdie. The first-year carded a three on the par-four first hole and had three straight pars on holes 13 through 15. He had a 42 on the front nine and a 42 on the back nine.
- Brady Keath is a stroke back with an 85 in 23rd place. He had a 42 on the front nine holes and a 43 on the back nine. The first-year recorded seven pars on the afternoon, including four on the front nine.
- Max Fisher finished with an 88 and is tied for 28th. He recorded a 46 on the front nine and a 42 on the back nine. Fisher had six pars on the round, including four on holes 13 through 18. The first-year birdied the par-five 15th hole.
- Grady Olson led the "B" squad with an 86. He is tied for 24th after a round where he had six pars, including four on the front nine. The first-year recorded a 41 on the front nine and a 45 on the back nine.
- Reece McDonald had an 88 to sit in a tie for 28th. He had a 43 on the front nine and a 45 on the back nine with eight pars.
- Deakon Schaeffer finished with a 90 to sit in a tie for 31st. The sophomore had eight pars and carded a 44 on the front nine with a 46 on the back nine.
- Lukas Bartek is tied for 33rd after recording a 91 on Monday. He posted a 44 on the front nine with three pars and had a 47 on the back nine.
- Trenton Wagner carded a 96 to round out LVC's golfers. He birdied the par-five seventh hole and added five pars on the day. Wagner had a 46 on the front nine and a 50 on the back nine.
Up Next
The Dutchmen will be back on the course of Lebanon Country Club tomorrow afternoon for the second and final round of the Invitational. The shotgun start is scheduled for 12 p.m.
