Women’s Indoor Track and Field Claim Eight All-Conference Awards; Byler Voted Coach of the Year

NEWTOWN, Pa. – The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) announced the 2026 All-MAC Women's Indoor Track and Field Teams and special awards following the conclusion of the two-day championship meet on February 28. The Dutchmen had eight All-MAC performances at the meet, with three individuals and all four relays earning a spot on the teams. Melissa Byler was named the Coach of the Year after LVC won its first conference title since 2014.
 
The Dutchmen had four MAC Champions that earned First Team honors while adding two Second Team honors and two Third Team performances. LVC scored 107 points and won by 24 points. Byler was voted as the Coach of the Year for the fourth time in her career.
 
Ava Matter earned All-MAC honors in four events as she won the 200 meters, finished third in the 60 meters, and was on two relays. She was a First Team honoree in the 200 with a season-best time of 26.11 seconds. Matter earned Third Team honors in the 60 meters after she ran 7.99 seconds in the final and a career-best time of 7.97 seconds in the preliminaries. Matter was the leadoff leg on the 4x200 and 4x400 meter relays that earned First Team honors with victories. Matter earned the first individual All-Conference awards of her career and now has six total honors after being a part of two relays that medaled last year.
 
Anna Sawicki won the Pentathlon for the second year in a row with a meet and school record 3459 points to earn First Team honors. The 2025 Rookie of the Year finished first in all five events and had career-best marks in the long jump and triple jump. Sawicki was also a member of the 4x200-meter relay team that won gold. She has four career All-MAC honors.
 
Autumn Garges was third in the mile and the third leg on the 4x800 meter relay team that finished second. She earned Third Team honors in the mile for the second consecutive year with a time of 5:08.87. The senior then earned her third medal in four years as a member of the 4x800 relay team.
 
The 4x200-meter relay team of Matter, Gabby Welter, Mikayla Mitchell, and Sawicki won LVC's first MAC title in the event since 2013 with a blazing time of 1:46.63. The Dutchmen led from start to finish to medal for the second consecutive year. Welter and Mitchell earned their first career All-Conference awards.
 
The 4x400 meter relay team of Matter, Welter, Abbie Reed, and Mileyska Calderon also won gold in the final event of the meet. to earn First Team honors. They gave the Dutchmen two MAC titles in three years with a time of 4:08.62. Reed and Calderon were also on the team that won in 2024. Matter and Calderon were on the team that finished second last year.
 
The 4x800 meter relay team of Sierra Kapcsos, Kaylee Senglar, Garges, and Abigail Hunt finished second to earn Second Team honors. The Dutchmen crossed the line in 9:48.81 to secure LVC's fifth straight medal in the event. In the past four years, the Dutchmen have come in third. Kapcsos and Garges have been on two of those relays, while Hunt and Senglar were on last year's team.
 
The Distance Medley Relay team of Senglar, Reed, Kapcsos, and Hunt finished second to earn Second Team honors. The Dutchmen ran a time of 12:27.63 to medal in the event for the second consecutive season. Hunt and Kapcsos were also on last year's relay that finished third.

Field Athlete of the Year: Brandy Varner, King's
Track Athlete of the Year: Gabby Nye, Widener
