ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley College women's tennis team has its sights set on a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom Championship this season. The Flying Dutchmen are scheduled to compete in 16 matches this spring, including seven home events at the Shankroff Tennis Center.
Lebanon Valley went 2-1 in its dual matches during the fall, picking up wins against Susquehanna University and Penn State Harrisburg. Entering the spring campaign, the Dutchmen are ranked second out of seven teams with 31 points in the 2026 MAC Freedom Women's Tennis Coaches' Preseason Poll.
"The depth of this year's team is our overall strength, with players who keep improving," Head Coach Noëlle Vahanian said. "We have increased confidence and consistency spanning all starters. If this team plays with heart and G.R.I.P. (Growth, Resilience, Integrity, and Passion), it has championship power."
Lebanon Valley's roster includes several impactful players who will look to contribute this spring. In the fall, the doubles team of sophomore
Katie Berra and junior
Megan Martin went 3-0, prompting each player to tie for the most doubles victories on LVC. Junior
Catherine Stone will also aim to build upon a productive start to the season when she led the Dutchmen in singles wins by posting a 3-0 record.
Senior
Sarah McComas is another pivotal performer who returns for LVC, after logging 2-1 records in both singles and doubles competition during the fall. Sophomores
Erika Badner and
Laken Kelly are also returning, following a first semester in which they both had 2-1 records in singles. Additionally, Lebanon Valley will be looking for contributions from seniors
Gigi Guay and
Nikki Denbowski, as well as sophomore
Emily Bryant.
The Flying Dutchmen are scheduled to open the spring schedule against Johnson & Wales University on Sunday, March 1, at 4 p.m., during a five-match Spring Break Trip to Hilton Head, S.C. Lebanon Valley will return to the Shankroff Tennis Center for its first home event of the semester on Wednesday, March 11, at 3:30 p.m., against Drew University.
LVC will start its MAC Freedom slate on Saturday, March 28, at 1 p.m., when the program will host FDU-Florham.
