Dutchmen Men’s Ice Hockey Set to Begin New Season

10/19/2026 3:00:00 PM

ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley College men's ice hockey team, led by captains John King, Ian Lindberg, Max Kontir, and Owen Ames, is ready to return to the ice for the 2026-27 season and has its sights set on reaching the postseason.

The Dutchmen will look to build on a 2025-26 season in which it posted eight victories against Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) opponents. The program enters the campaign ranked sixth out of nine teams in the MAC Men's Ice Hockey Coaches' Preseason Poll.

"I think our defensive core is probably the most solid that we've had in my time here at LVC," Head Coach Don Parsons said. "We're very excited to see what our forwards can put together and accomplish on the ice as well. They've all bought into the LVC Hockey culture and are tremendous young men and are very proud to be here. Everybody's putting their best foot forward, and we're excited to get started."

Lebanon Valley's roster features 12 returners and 14 newcomers, including 11 first-year players. Ames, a sophomore right winger and center, will look to build on a debut campaign in which he led the Dutchmen with eight goals and ranked second on the team with 16 points. King (six goals, four assists), a senior right winger and center, and Kontir (six goals, six assists), a junior left winger, will also play integral roles for LVC's offense. Additionally, the Flying Dutchmen expect junior Zach Nicholls to make an impact. The forward transferred to the College after recording two goals and three assists for SUNY Morrisville last winter.

Defensively, Lebanon Valley is excited about the potential of its four goaltenders. The program expects sophomore goalie Dario Cantini to start on opening night and be in the mix for playing time. The Dutchmen will also depend on Lindberg to make an impact, following a campaign in which the left defenseman tied with Ames and King for second on the team with 26 blocks. Additionally, LVC will look to senior Zach Hahn to be a key contributor, as the left defenseman joins the squad this year after transferring from Division I University of New Hampshire.

Lebanon Valley will begin the 2026-27 campaign on Friday, Oct. 30, at 7 p.m., when the program will host SUNY Morrisville for the first of 12 home games at Hersheypark Arena. The Dutchmen will then open their MAC schedule on Saturday, Nov. 7, at 3:30 p.m., against Misericordia University in Wilkes-Barre.

LVC will hold Senior Day on Saturday, Jan. 9, at 4 p.m., against King's College at Hersheypark Arena. The Flying Dutchmen will later close out the regular season on Saturday, Feb. 20, at 3:40 p.m., at Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre. Lebanon Valley's full schedule can be found here.
