HAGERSTOWN, Md. – The Lebanon Valley men's golf team had a strong start to the Cardinal Fall Classic on Saturday afternoon as
Brody Rafferty carded a two-over 74 and all four other golfers carded an 80 at Black Rock Golf Course in Hagerstown, Maryland.
The Dutchmen are ninth out of 12 teams in a close field where Goucher, Hood, and Marymount are all tied for the lead at 295 after the first round. Host Catholic University is fourth with a 296. Catholic's Joseph Earley is the leader in the clubhouse after Saturday with a two-under 70. Rafferty is tied for ninth.
Inside the Results
- Rafferty carded his best round of the fall and the best round by any Dutchman this year. The first-year recorded LVC's first eagle of the year with a three on the par-five first hole. He also birdied the par-three 15th hole and had 12 pars on the afternoon. Rafferty carded a one-over 37 on the front nine and a one-over 37 on the back nine.
- Lewis Dieffenbach was one of four Dutchmen to card an 80. The first-year was the only one on the squad to card two birdies, recording them on the par-three second hole and the par-four fifth. He was a one-over 37 on the front nine and a seven-over 43 on the back with 10 pars.
- Max Fisher posted 10 pars and one birdie on the day to finish with a season-low 80. The redshirt first-year birdied the par-five 16th hole. He was six-over with a 42 on the front nine and had a strong back nine at a two-over 38.
- Brady Keath also had a season-low 80. He posted 11 pars on the round. The first-year carded a two-over 38 on the front nine and a six-over 42 on the back nine holes.
- Reagan Flynn posted another 80 with eight pars and a birdie on the par-five 16th hole. The sophomore was four-over with a 40 on the front and back nine.
