Men’s Golf Finishes Third at MAC Freedom Championship

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley Men's Golf team had another great round on a rainy afternoon to finish third at the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom Championship on Sunday at the Shawnee Golf Course in East Stroudsburg.
 
Brandon Staniszewski earned All-Conference honors as he tied for ninth with a two-day score of 152. The Dutchmen recorded a team score of 314 on Sunday which is tied for the second-best round of the year. Stevens Institute of Technology had the top five finishers in the field to win the team title with a score of 291 and a two-day total of 586. Benjamin Slicker won the individual title and Golfer of the Year honors with a round of 71 and a score of 141 for the tournament. He won by eight strokes over teammate Brock Dickson. Arcadia University was second with a score of 614 while the Dutchmen were third at 621. DeSales University finished fourth at 637 and Delaware Valley University rounded out the top five teams with a score of 643.
 
Inside the Results
  • Staniszewski earned Second Team honors for the second consecutive year and the third All-Conference finish of his career with a 77 on Sunday. The senior carded a three-over 39 on the front nine and a two-over 38 on the back nine. He recorded 13 pars on the round including six straight from holes 12 to 17.
  • Brayden Herr also recorded a 77 on Sunday to finish 13th with a score of 154. The first-year had 12 pars for the round including eight straight on the front nine from the second hole to the ninth hole. Herr recorded a birdie on the par-four 12th hole. He carded a one-over 37 on the front nine and a four-over 40 on the back nine.
  • Reagan Flynn finished 14th with a score of 155 after recording a 79 on Sunday. He posted nine pars and three birdies on the round. He birdied the par-five third hole, the par-five sixth hole, and the par-four 12th hole. Flynn was a two-over 38 on the front nine and a five-over 41 on the back nine.
  • Blake Dustin was tied for 19th with a two-day score of 161 after he carded an 82 on Sunday. The first-year was a three-over 39 on the front nine and a seven-over 43 on the back nine. Dustin carded eight pars and a birdie on the par-four 12th hole. Six of his pars were on the front nine.
  • Ian Stefanchik recorded an 81 on Sunday for a two-day score of 164 to tie for 27th. The senior had eight pars and a birdie on the par-four 17th hole. He carded a four-over 40 on the front nine and a five-over 41 on the back nine.
  • The third-place finish is the best for the Dutchmen at a conference championship since LVC placed second at the 2019 MAC Commonwealth Championships with a score of 622.
