Men’s Golf Records Season-Best Round at Franklin & Marshall

LANCASTER, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley Men's Golf team recorded its lowest team score of the season with a 314 to finish 11th out of 12 teams at the Franklin & Marshall Invitational on Monday afternoon at the Bent Creek Country Club in Lancaster.
 
The Dutchmen had three golfers in the 70s on the par-71 course. Division II Millersville won the team title with a 281 while the host Diplomats were second at 283. Millersville had the top two golfers in the field as Logan Wagner won with a 66 and Timothy Peters was second with a 67. Brandon Staniszewski was LVC's top golfer in the field with a 73 to finish tied for 15th.
 
Inside the Results
  • Staniszewski recorded the second-lowest round of his career and a season-low by five strokes with a two-over 73. The senior was one-over par on the front and back nines with a 36 on the front and a 37 on the back. He recorded 10 pars and four birdies. He birdied back-to-back holes twice on the par-four seventh and eighth holes, and the par-four 16th and 17th holes.
  • Brayden Herr carded a 79 to finish one stroke off his season-best score. The first-year had a 39 on the front nine holes and a 40 on the back nine with nine pars. Herr birdied the par-four fourth hole and the par-five ninth hole.
  • Blake Dustin also finished with a 79 on the afternoon. He recorded 10 pars and had a 41 on the front nine holes with a two-over 38 on the back nine.
  • Ian Stefanchik had an 83 to finish as LVC's fourth scorer. The junior carded a 46 on the front nine and was a one-over 37 on the back nine. He had 10 pars and a birdie on the par-five 12th hole.
  • Reagan Flynn finished with an 87 after a slow start to the round. He started on the 14th hole and carded a 46 on the back nine with a 41 on the front nine. Flynn had nine pars for the round with seven coming on his final 13 holes.

The Dutchmen will next compete at the MAC Freedom Championships on May 3 and May 4. This year's conference invitational is being held at The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort at Shawnee on Delaware in the Poconos.
