Nemitz Highlights Strong Performance by Dutchmen at Paul Donahue Invitational

CHESTER, Pa – The Lebanon Valley Outdoor Track and Field team had strong performances by all 13 student-athletes that competed at the Paul Donahue Invitational hosted by Widener University on Friday and Saturday. Kyrianna Nemitz highlighted the meet by finishing second in the women's 5000 meters on Friday.
 
The Dutchmen had three women finish in the top five of the 5000. Nemitz finished second with a time of 17:42.35. Autumn Garges was right behind her with a career-best time of 17:45.61 to finish third and qualify for both the MAC Championships and AARTFC Championships. Her time is third in the program record books. Coyla Bartholomew was fifth in a time of 17:57.30 to also qualify for the MAC and AARTFC Championships in the event. Christine Wagner qualified for the MAC Championships with a time of 19:43.79. In the men's 5000 meters, LVC had two MAC qualifiers and two program Top 10 times. Andrew Namatka became one of the few first-year MAC runners ever to break 15 minutes with a time of 14:51.67 to finish 10th in a stacked field. His time is fifth in the program record books. Lukas Walko ran a career-best time of 14:58.96 which is sixth on the Top 10 list. Dylan Lenhart qualified for MACs and just missed the AARTFC qualifying time with a career-best 15:11.13. His time is also just outside the program record books. Matthew Santana ran a MAC qualifying time of 15:29.52.
 
Daniel Murtha finished fourth in the 110-meter hurdles with a legal-wind career-best time of 15.03 second. Owen Linder had a time of 22.13 seconds in the 200 meters while Murtha ran a career-best time of 22.74 seconds.
 
Aonghas Evanick finished third in the discus with a toss of 45.02 meters. Alyssa Betz had a mark of 34.72 meters in the discus and 9.95 meters in the shot put. Greta Plechner threw the shot put 10.39 meters.
 
The Dutchmen will close out the regular season next Saturday at Shippensburg University with the Paul Kaiser Classic.
