Men’s Golf Finishes Eighth at DeSales Spring Classic

NEW TRIPOLI, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley Men's Golf team had their best round of the year with a team score of 319 to finish eighth out of 13 teams at the DeSales Spring Classic on Saturday afternoon at the Olde Homestead Golf Club in New Tripoli.
 
The Dutchmen carded a round two shots better than they did on Friday to finish with a two-day score of 640. Drew University won the team title with a 294 on Saturday after carding a 292 on Friday. The Dutchmen had the sixth-best score on Saturday.
 
Inside the Results
  • Reagan Flynn had LVC's best round of the day with a five-over 77. He finished the tournament 27th out of 68 golfers with a 157. Flynn had a 41 on the front nine and was even par with a 36 on the back nine. He recorded 10 pars with birdies on the par-four third hole, the par-five eighth hole, and the par-four 15th hole.
  • Brandon Staniszewski had another strong round as he equaled his season-low round of 79. His two-day score of 159 placed him tied for 30th. He also carded a 41 on the front nine and shot a two-over 38 on the back nine. Staniszewski had 12 pars on the afternoon.
  • Blake Dustin finished tied for 40th with a two-day score of 163 after carding an 81 on Saturday. The first-year had a 42 on the front nine and a 39 on the back nine. Dustin recorded eight pars and had birdies on the par-four second, the par-four 15th, and the par-five 16th holes.
  • Ian Stefanchik finished with an 82 after recording a 42 on the front nine and a 40 on the back nine. His two-day score of 166 placed him tied for 44th. Stefanchik carded 12 pars on the round.
  • Brayden Herr carded an 84 to give him a two-day score of 163 which placed him tied for 40th overall. He had a 40 on the front nine and a 44 on the back nine. Herr recorded eight pars on the afternoon. 
Up Next
The Dutchmen will be back in action on Thursday with a short trip to Hershey for the Elizabethtown Invitational at the Hershey Country Club. Tee times are scheduled for a shotgun start at 1 p.m.
