Strong Back Nine Powers Men’s Golf on First Day of DeSales Spring Classic

NEW TRIPOLI, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley Men's Golf team was a combined +3 on the back nine to record one of the team's best rounds of the season with a 321 on the first day of the DeSales Spring Classic at the Olde Homestead Golf Club in New Tripoli.
 
The Dutchmen are tied for 10th in the field of 13 teams with host DeSales University after the first day but are within striking distance of the top four as just nine strokes separate fourth through 10th place. All five Dutchmen carded under 85 as LVC recorded their third-best team score of the year.
 
Inside the Results
  • Brayden Herr led the Dutchmen as he equaled his season-low round of 79 with a seven-over par. He carded a 44 on the front nine and then came back strong with a one-under 35 on the back nine. Herr had two birdies on back-to-back hole at the par-four 11th and the par-five 12th holes and then added an eagle on the par-five 16th hole. He also had six pars on the afternoon.
  • Reagan Flynn finished with an 80 shooting a 45 on the front nine and one-under 35 on the back nine. He had six pars and four birdies on the afternoon. Flynn birdied the par-four sixth hole and then had three consecutive birdies on the par-five 12th, the par-three 13th, and the par-four 14th holes.
  • Brandon Staniszewski also carded an 80 and had the best front nine score among the Dutchmen. He had a 42 on the front and then finished with a 38 on the back nine. The senior had nine pars and three birdies on the par-five first hole, the par-four 14th, and the par-five 16th hole.
  • Blake Dustin had an 82 with a 45 on the front nine holes and a one-over 37 on the back nine. Dustin birdied the par-three fourth hole, the par-four 14th, and the par-five 16th holes. He also had seven pars on the round.
  • Ian Stefanchik recorded an 84 with a 46 on the front nine and 38 on the back. He carded six pars and two birdies on the par-three fourth hole and the par-five 12th hole.
