NEW TRIPOLI, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley men's golf team posted the 11th-best team score in program history with a 305 on Saturday afternoon to finish fifth at the DeSales Fall Classic with a two-day score of 614. The Dutchmen had three golfers card rounds in the 70s at the Olde Homestead Golf Club in New Tripoli.
Albright College won the team title by 10 strokes after carding a 291 on Saturday to finish with a two-day total of 593. The University of Scranton was second at 603 after recording a 300 on Saturday. Drew University was the only other team to break 300 with a 299 to finish third at 610. Kean University finished fourth with a score of 612 after carding a 309 on Saturday. LVC's round of 305 gave them a score of 614 to finish fifth, one stroke ahead of Lancaster Bible College.
Inside the Results
- The Dutchmen last recorded 305 as a team score at an event during the 2017-18 season when they did it twice. They first did it in the fall at the Alvernia Fall Invitational, and then again in the spring at the Dutchmen Spring Invitational.
- Brayden Herr finished tied for second, one stroke off the leader, with a two-day total of 143. He carded a 73 on Saturday with five birdies and eight pars. The sophomore was an even-par 36 on the front nine and finished with a one-over 37 on the back nine. His birdies came on the par-five first hole, the par-four seventh hole, the par-five eighth hole, the par-four 15th hole, and the par-five 16th hole.
- Reagan Flynn also had a 73 on Saturday to finish with a two-day total of 150. He was tied for 13th in the field of 57. Flynn was an even-par 36 on the front nine and a one-over 37 on the back nine. The sophomore had 13 pars, including seven straight to end his round. He birdied the par-four second hole and the par-four seventh hole.
- Brody Rafferty finished tied for 26th with a tournament score of 159. The first-year carded a 78 in round two. He was a two-over 38 on the front nine and a four-over 40 on the back. Rafferty carded 11 pars, including six consecutive from holes seven to 12, and had a birdie on the par-five 16th hole.
- Lewis Dieffenbach recorded an 81 for the second straight round to finish tied for 33rd with a score of 162. The first-year had seven pars and a birdie on the par-four third hole. He was a three-over 39 on the front nine and carded a 42 on the back nine.
- Patrick Devine finished 55th with a score of 181 after recording a 91 on Saturday. He had six pars and recorded back-to-back birdies on the par-four 15th hole and the par-five 16th hole. Devine carded a 51 on the front nine and a 40 on the back.

LVC will head to the Bent Creek Country Club on Monday, Oct. 13, for the first day of the two-day Lancaster Bible Fall Invitational. Tee times are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. in Lancaster.
