Herr Cards Career-Low 70 to Lead Dutchmen at DeSales Fall Classic

NEW TRIPOLI, Pa. – Lebanon Valley sophomore Brayden Herr was one stroke off the program record with a career-low 70 on Friday to lead the men's golf team to fifth place on the first day of the DeSales Fall Classic at the Olde Homestead Golf Club in New Tripoli.
 
The Dutchmen had their best team score of the year with a 309. They are seven strokes behind Albright College, which is in first after recording a 302. Kean University and the University of Scranton are tied for second at 303. Lancaster Bible is fourth with a 304.
 
Inside the Results
  • Herr is in second place after the first day with his two-under par 70. He is one stroke off the leader, Sean Dunn of Kean, who carded a 69. Herr was a one-over 37 on the front nine holes and an excellent three-under 33 on the back nine. His back nine consisted of four birdies, four pars, and a bogey. He had six pars, one birdie, and two bogeys on the front nine.
  • Reagan Flynn had one of his best rounds of the fall with a five-over 77 to sit in a tie for 18th. He was one-over with a 37 on the front nine, and after a rough three-hole stretch to begin the back nine, he recorded six straight pars to finish with a 40 on the back nine. Flynn had a total of 14 pars on the round as he parred eight holes on the front nine.
  • Brody Rafferty carded an 81 with a 41 on the front nine and a 40 on the back nine. The first-year is tied for 29th heading into Saturday's final round. He birdied the par-five 16th hole and added nine pars.
  • Lewis Dieffenbach also had an 81 to sit in a tie for 29th. He had nine pars on the afternoon with a 41 on the front nine and a 40 on the back.
  • Patrick Devine sits in a tie for 51st after recording a 90. The first year had two birdies on the front nine to record a 43. He then had a 47 on the back nine with three pars.
Up Next
LVC will look to move up the leaderboard on Saturday with the second and final round of the invitational. Tee times start at 11 a.m. in New Tripoli.
