Dutchmen Have Strong Showing on Day One of AARTFC Championships

CORTLAND, N.Y. – The Lebanon Valley outdoor track and field team had a successful first day of competition at the AARTFC Championships on Wednesday afternoon on the campus of SUNY Cortland.
 
Kaitlyn Snyder finished 14th out of 25 throwers in the javelin with a mark of 29.97 meters (98'4") on her third toss. Trey Reynolds was 18th out of 28 throwers in the hammer with a throw of 48.85 meters (160'3") on his third attempt. Rachel Snavely finished tied for 13th in the pole vault with a height of 3.13 meters (10'3.25"). Emily Oriel was tied for 17th at the same height of 3.13 meters (10'3.25").
 
The women's 4x100 relay team of Abbie Reed, Darrian Berkheimer, Alyssa Peiffer, and Mileyska Calderon finished fourth in the third of four heats and 12th overall with a time of 49.40 seconds. The men's relay team of Donovan Goundie, Alex Sabo, Owen Linder and Colin Winters won the first of five heats and was 22nd overall with a time of 43.03 seconds. The women's 4x400 relay team of Reed, Berkheimer, Peiffer, and Calderon just missed the podium with a ninth place finish in 3:59.94. They were second in the second of three heats while moving up on the program top 10 list from eighth to fifth with a season-best time.
 
Daniel Murtha finished fourth in the third of three heats and 14th out of 22 total hurdlers in the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.41 seconds. Kadan Smith crossed the line in 16.17 seconds in the second heat. Linder had a time of 11.47 seconds in the 100 meters in the second of six heats. Donnie Miller ran a time of 9:41.39 in the 3000 steeplechase to finish second in the first of two heats and 11th overall out of 22 runners. Eric Shelton ran in the second heat and finished 12th overall with a time of 9:44.01.
 
LVC will wrap up the regular season tomorrow on the final day of the AARTFC Championships at SUNY Cortland.
