ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley men's swimming team had four student-athletes named to the Academic All-District® Swimming and Diving Team by College Sports Communicators (CSC) in a release by the professional organization this week.
 
The Academic All-District® Men's Swimming and Diving Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom. Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced April. 24, 2024.
 
The four Dutchmen honorees are Dain Vallie, Josh Varner, Justin Kopp, and Brian Dym.
 
Vallie is a graduate student who is studying for his doctoral degree in physical therapy from Carlisle, Pennsylvania. The two-time all-district honoree swam in all nine meets and finished 19th in the 200-yard freestyle, 20th in the 100-yard freestyle, 28th in the 500-yard freestyle, and swam on four relays at the MAC Championships.
 
Varner is a junior exercise science major from Lititz, Pennsylvania. He swam in seven meets and finished 26th in the 100-yard breaststroke, 28th in the 100-yard butterfly, 30th in the 50-yard freestyle, and swam on four relays at the MAC Championships.
 
Kopp is junior English and creative writing major from Dallastown, Pennsylvania. The two-time all-district honoree swam in all nine meets and finished 20th in the 100-yard butterfly, 29th in the 50-yard freestyle, 32nd in the 100-yard freestyle, and swam on four relays at the MAC Championships.
 
Dym is a sophomore exercise science major from Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. He swam in six meets and won four events during the season while qualifying for the MAC Championships in multiple events.
