ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley Swimming Teams finished off a strong opening weekend with a sweep of Lycoming College on Saturday in the first dual of the season at the Arnold Sports Center in Annville. The men's team defeated the Warriors 140-34 while the women's squad was victorious 121-64.
The meet featured 22 events, 11 for each gender, with the Dutchmen winning 16 events. LVC had nine MAC qualifiers while sweeping the Warriors for the first time. The men defeated Lycoming for the second consecutive year while the women defeated the Warriors for the first time since 2021.
Inside the Results
- Sierra Young, Rachel King, Marina Weidman, and Jordyn Grossman started the meet off by winning the 200-meter medley relay in 2:18.42. The men's team of Joe Beidler, Zack Fischer, Justin Kopp, and Josh Varner also won in 2:08.26.
- Owen Fastrich qualified for the MAC Championships in the 1650 freestyle with an 800-meter freestyle time of 9:50.76. He also qualified for the 500-freestyle with a time of 4:45.36 in the 400-meter freestyle.
- Jacob Herold finished first in the 200-meter freestyle with a time of 2:35.28.
- Grossman won the 50-meter freestyle with a MAC qualifying time of 28.91 seconds. Young also qualified for MACs with a time of 30.37 seconds to finish second.
- Tyler Singer qualified for the MAC Championships by winning the 50-meter freestyle in a qualifying time of 27.16.
- Young won the women's 200-meter individual medley in 2:55.66, just missing the MAC qualifying time, while Fastrich just missed the men's mark with a time of 2:35.18.
- Kopp swam a MAC qualifying time of 1:05.92 in the 100-meter butterfly.
- Weidman won the 100-meter freestyle in a MAC qualifying time of 1:05.84 while Single won the men's heat in 1:07.55.
- Grossman won her second individual event of the day with a time of 1:19.22 in the 100-meter backstroke, missing the MAC time by a second. Beidler won the men's heat in 1:17.45.
- King won the 100-meter breaststroke in a MAC qualifying time of 1:28.03. Varner also won and qualified for MACs with a time of 1:18.83.
- The Dutchmen closed the meet by sweeping the 200-meter freestyle relays. Weidman, Karly Kile, Anna Kolacek, and Jana Shoffner won the women's heat in 2:12.62 while Beidler, Singer, Kopp, and Varner won the men's heat in 1:52.69.

The teams will head to Bryn Mawr College next Saturday. The women's squad will face Bryn Mawr College and Cedar Crest College while the men's team will run time trials as both colleges only have women's teams.
