CHESTER, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley men's outdoor track and field team put together another strong performance this weekend at the Paul Donahue Invitational at Widener University with 11 new MAC and AARTFC qualifiers.
TOP PERFORMANCES AND NEW QUALIFIERS
Elijah McKell finished third in the 800 meters with a season best time of 1:54.80.
Sam Rothstein qualified for the MAC Championships in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:02.25. The Dutchmen had three MAC qualifiers and two AARTFC qualifiers in the 5000 meters on Friday evening.
Matthew Santana and
Joe Chukoskie qualified for both championships as Santana was ninth in 14:47.19 and Chukoskie ran a time of 14:55.52.
Dylan Lenhart was a new MAC qualifier in the event with a time of 15:49.53.
Zach Reed finished second in the 110 hurdles with a career best time of 14.74 seconds.
Daniel Murtha was a MAC qualifier in the 400 hurdles with a time of 59.41 seconds.
Donnie Miller finished fifth in the 3000 steeplechase with a time of 9:47.73 while
Cole Lehman became a MAC qualifier after running 10:24.08. The 4x400 meter relay team of
Owen Linder,
Donovan Goundie, McKell, and Reed finished third with an AARTFC qualifying time of 3:19.40.
Ayden Stankus finished fourth in the pole vault with a height of 4.30 meters (14'1.25") and sixth in the long jump with a mark of 6.47 meters (21'2.75") on his second jump.
Grant Smith qualified for MACs in the pole vault with a height of 3.85 meters (12'7.5").
Aonghas Evanick finished sixth in the discus with a toss of 42.96 meters (140'11") on his third attempt.
Trey Reynolds was third in the hammer with an AARTFC qualifying mark of 49.47 meters (162'4") on his third toss.
INSIDE THE RECORD BOOKS
Linder ran a career-best time of 22.30 seconds in the 200 meters which is tied for sixth on the program's top 10 list. Rothstein's career best 1500 time of 4:02.25 is ninth in the record books moving him up from 10th. Santana ran the second-fastest 5000 meter time in the record books with his time of 14:47.19. Chukoskie was right behind him in third at 14:55.52. Reed's career best 110 hurdles time of 14.74 seconds moves him up from sixth to fourth. Miller's steeplechase career best time of 9:47.73 moves him up to fifth from sixth in the record books. The 4x400 team of Linder, Goundie, McKell, and Reed just missed the school record of 3:19.17 with a time of 3:19.40. Evanick moved up to fifth from seventh in the discus with his career best toss of 42.96 meters (140'11"). Reynolds threw a career best 49.47 meters (162'4") in the hammer which is third in the record books.
