ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Lebanon Valley indoor track and field team had a strong finish to the season as
Elijah McKell,
Zach Reed, and the 4x200 meter relay teams reached the podium on the final day of the AARTFC Championships in Rochester.
McKell scored three points for the Dutchmen in the 800 meters with a time of 1:56.90 to finish sixth. The sophomore was fifth in the third of three heats. Reed finished fifth in the final of the 60-meter hurdles to score four points with a time of 8.39 seconds. The 4x200 relay squad of
Owen Linder,
Donovan Goundie,
Daniel Murtha, and Reed also reached the podium with a fifth-place finish in 1:31.56 to score four points. Their season-best time moves them up from eight to seventh in the program record books.
Vinny Ferrizzi finished 17th in the mile with a time of 4:21.41. He was fifth in the first of three heats.
Sam Rothstein was 19th in the 3000 meters with a time of 9:00.90. He was sixth in the first of two heats.
Sierra Kapcsos ran a time of 2:22.49 in the 800 meters to finish 18th overall and third in the second of four heats.
Autumn Garges was 17th in the mile with a career-best time of 5:19.74. She was second in the first of three heats and her time is 10th on the program's top 10 list.
Coyla Bartholomew finished 12th in the 3000 meters with a time of 10:45.19. The 4x200 meter relay team of
Darrian Berkheimer,
Alyssa Peiffer,
Karina Reilly, and
Mileyska Calderon had a time of 1:47.91 to finish eighth and score one point. Their season-best time moves them up from 10th to eighth in the record books.
Lauren Assante was 18th in the weight throw with a mark of 14.46 meters (47'5.25"0 on her third throw.
The indoor season is now over for the Flying Dutchmen. LVC will begin the outdoor season later this month on March 23 when they host Lancaster Bible for a Mini Home Meet in Annville.
