SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley men's indoor track and field team had a great final tune-up on Saturday as the team won three events at the SU Tune Up hosted at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove. The meet was the last regular season meet before next weekend's Middle Atlantic Conference Championships.
TOP PERFORMANCES
Colin Winters finished fourth in the 60 meters with a career best time of 7.14 seconds. The sprinter had a time of 7.17 seconds in the preliminaries. Matthew Bruchak qualified for the MAC Championships in the 200 meters with a time of 23.80 seconds.
Alec Di Cesare was fourth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:01.68 while
Ryan O'Byrne was sixth in 2:03.14.
Lukas Walko finished third in the mile with a time of 4:35.54 while
Cole Lehman ran a career best time of 4:47.25 to cross the line eighth.
Matthew Santana won his second 3000 meters of the year with a season best time of 8:52.72.
Donnie Miller finished third in the 5000 meters with a time of 16:48.62.
Liam Allen was fifth in 17:09.68.
Zach Reed had a career best 60-meter hurdle time of 8.24 seconds to win his sixth event of the season. The hurdles ran a time of 8.49 seconds in the preliminaries.
Kadan Smith was third in 8.71 seconds while
Daniel Murtha was fourth in 8.82 seconds. Smith ran 8.92 seconds while Murtha had a time of 8.86 seconds in prelims. The 4x200 meter relay team of
Owen Linder,
Donovan Goundie, Murtha, and Reed won in 1:32.74. They won by a little over three seconds and qualified for the AARTFC Championships.
Ayden Stankus finished second in the pole vault with a height of 4.30 meters (14'1.25")
Grant Smith was fifth with a season best height of 3.70 meters (12'1.5"). Tajay Brown finished fifth in the triple jump with a season best mark of 11.16 meters (36'7.5") on his sixth jump.
Aonghas Evanick was fifth in the shot put with a toss of 13.49 meters (44'3.25") on his first throw.
Luke Tobin was seventh with a season best mark of 13.09 meters (42'11.5") on his fourth toss and
Ian Paul was eighth with a career best throw of 13.03 meters (42'9") on his third attempt. In the weight throw,
Trey Reynolds was third with a throw of 15.11 meters (49'7") on his third try,
Cody Shay was sixth with a mark of 14.15 meters (46'5.25") on his fifth toss and
Nick Guerieri finished seventh with a season best throw of 13.11 meters (43'0.25") on his fourth attempt.
On Friday the Dutchmen had a trio of runners competing at two different meets.
Sam Rothstein was down at George Mason's Father Diamond Invitational where he ran the mile in a career best 4:22.37 to finish eighth out of 24 finishers, most of which were Division I runners or unattached.
Elijah McKell and
Vinny Ferrizzi ran at the Penn State Tune-Up. McKell ran the 800 meters and finished 12th out of 26 finishers in the 800 meters with a career best time of 1:54.10. Ferrizzi was eighth out of 21 finishers in the mile with a career best time of 4:19.56. Both Rothstein and Ferrizzi qualified for the AARTFC Championships in the mile with their times.

Winters moved up to fourth from seventh in the 60 meters program top 10 list with his career best time of 7.14 seconds. McKell's 800 time of 1:54.10 is third in program history. Ferrizzi's career best mile time of 4:19.56 is fourth on the program's top 10 list while Rothstein's time of 4:22.37 is sixth. Santana's 3000-meter time of 8:52.72 is seventh on the top 10 list. Reed's new career best 60 hurdle time of 8.24 seconds is third in the program record books.
Up Next
The Dutchmen for compete for a conference title next weekend at the MAC Championships. The two-day meet will get underway at 1:30 p.m. on Friday at Alvernia University in Reading.
