Dutchmen Men’s Soccer Ready to Contend for MAC Freedom Championship

ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley College Men's Soccer team will begin postseason play tomorrow night, as the program has its sights set on its first Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom title. The Dutchmen are the fourth seed in the tournament and will travel to take on top-seeded Stevens Institute of Technology in the MAC Freedom Semifinal. 
 
Lebanon Valley posted a 9-7-2 overall record with a 3-3-1 conference mark during the regular season. LVC will begin its postseason journey against Stevens at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5, in the MAC Freedom Semifinal at the DeBaun Athletic Complex in Hoboken, New Jersey. The Ducks registered a 9-3-4 overall record with a 6-0-1 record against conference opponents in the 2024 season. The conference's other semifinal match will feature second-seeded DeSales University hosting third-seeded Misericordia University at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday in Center Valley, Pennsylvania. The winners of these matchups will meet on Saturday, Nov. 5, with the higher seed hosting the title game.  
 
Lebanon Valley posted strong efforts in each of their meetings against the other teams in this year's MAC Freedom Championship. The Dutchmen and the Ducks faced off against each other in a hard-fought match on Oct. 26, which Stevens won 1-0 on a late goal. Lebanon Valley also delivered a valiant effort in a 1-1 tie with Misericordia in its MAC Freedom opener on Oct. 5. LVC battled tough against DeSales as well, which the Bulldogs won 2-0 on Oct. 29. 
 
Ticket prices for each match are set by the MAC office and are as follows:
Adults - $8
Seniors (65+) - $6
Youth (7-17) - $6
MAC Students w/ ID - Free
6 and under w/ adult - Free
 
During Lebanon Valley's 18 regular season contests, the squad outscored its opponents 32-18. Nathan Prex was a catalyst for the Dutchmen offensively, leading the team with 14 points on five goals and four assists. Aaron Weitzel also played an integral role in the program's scoring efforts, leading LVC with six goals and ranking second with 13 points. Ben Ammon has been a pivotal performer as well, tallying nine points with three goals and two assists. 
 
Simon Grimes has also made an impact during his debut season, registering eight points on four goals. Additionally, Lucas Strange has recorded eight points for the Dutchmen by scoring a goal and dishing out a team-leading six assists during the campaign. The graduate student's six assists are tied for sixth in the MAC Freedom. 
 
The Flying Dutchmen have several other players who have made significant contributions throughout the season, as Will Burton logged seven points, Nolan Ross tallied six points, and Aidan Negron posted five points. In addition, Charlie McCormick found the net twice for four points, as Nathan Kimball and Jacob Kramer both registered three points with a goal and an assist. Kevin Donahue, Darryl Greenwood, and Ethan Groff also had two points with a goal each, while Matthew Weinstock-Collins had two points as well with a pair of assists. Additionally, Dom Beddia, Connor Given, and Logan Hicks have impacted the offense by logging a point each with an assist. Darren Greenwood, Ollie Lynch, and LJ Ndaro have also all appeared in Flying Dutchmen victories this season.
 
On the defensive end, goalkeeper Dalton Fitterling has had another strong season for the Dutchmen by ranking at the top of the statistical leaderboards in the MAC Freedom. Among goalies in the conference, Fitterling ranks second with 86 saves, tied for second with five shutouts, and third with an .827 save percentage. Goalkeeper Ethan Bazydola made three saves for Lebanon Valley as well, and goalie Ryan Simonette tallied a stop. 
 
Lebanon Valley's defenders have posted a solid campaign as well, as the unit comprised of Hicks, Beddia, Kramer, Tyler Snavely, Harrison Davis, Ben Kolarek, Charlie Kramer, Tyler Wescott, Eli Colantoni, and Nathan Newsom has limited the opposition to 1.00 goals allowed per game. This ranks third among defenses in the MAC Freedom.
