Men’s Indoor Track and Field Wins Nine Events at Dutchmen Invitational

ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley men's indoor track and field team won nine events on Friday as the team returned to action for the first time in over a month by hosting the Dutchmen Invitational inside the Arnold Sports Center.
 
LVC was joined at the meet by Albright College, Goucher College, and Lancaster Bible College.
 
TOP PERFORMANCES
Owen Linder won the 55 meters with a time of 6.66 seconds in the final. He ran 6.67 second in the preliminaries. Colin Winters was second with a time of 6.67 seconds in the final after running 6.73 seconds in prelims. Ayden Stankus, Zach Reed, and Kadan Smith all ran MAC qualifying times in the event. Stankus qualified for the final with a time of 6.76 seconds and then ran the exact same time in the final. Reed ran 6.84 seconds in the prelims and the final. Smith had a time of 6.89 seconds. Donovan Goundie finished second in the 400 meters with a time of 53.06 seconds while Trevor Gipe was third in the 80 meters with a time of 2:22.78.
 
Sam Rothstein won the mile in 4:35.53 while Elijah McKell was second in 4:43.31. The Dutchmen had the top three in the 3000 meters with Matthew Santana winning in 9:19.41. Lukas Walko was second with a time of 9:22.04 and Donnie Miller finished right behind him in 9:22.25. Reed won the 55 hurdles in a MAC qualifying time of 7.95 seconds in the final. He had a faster time in the prelims as Reed cruised over the line in 7.87 seconds. Smith was second with a time of 8.06 seconds in the final after running 8.15 seconds in the preliminaries. The team of Matt Bruchak, Makih Cooper, Goundie and Linder finished second in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 3:38.97 to close out the meet.
 
Cooper won the high jump at 1.88 meters (6'2"). Graison Michajluk was second with a height of 1.83 meters (6'0"). Stankus won the pole vault with a height of 4.30 meters (14'1.25") while Michajluk was second at 2.75 meters (9'0.25"). Josh Otto was second in the long jump with a MAC qualifying mark of 6.22 meters (20'5") on his second jump. Otto was also second in the triple jump with a mark of 12.74 meters (41'9.75"). Ben Wolfe won the triple jump with a MAC and AARTFC qualifying jump of 13.80 meters (45'3.5") on his fourth and final attempt.
 
Trey Reynolds was a double winner in the shot put and weight throw. He threw 12.77 meters (41'10.75") on his second toss to win the shot put and then had a throw of 15.33 meters (50'3.5") on his fourth attempt to win the weight throw. Aonghas Evanick was second in the shot put with a MAC qualifying toss of 12.66 meters (41'6.5") on his first throw and third in the weight throw with a mark of 13.82 meters (45'4.25") on his third attempt. Cody Shay was third in the shot put with a toss of 12.52 meters (41'1") on his second attempt and second in the weight throw with a mark of 14.02 meters (46'0") on his second try. Nick Guerieri had a MAC qualifying throw of 11.92 meters (39'1.25") in the shot put on his second toss.
 
Alex Sabo had a big day winning the heptathlon with 3687 points. He started the afternoon with a career best and MAC qualifying time of 6.83 seconds in the 55 meters and then threw a career best 12.68 meters (41'7.25 ") in the shot put. He then had a MAC qualifying long jump mark of 6.09 meters (19'11.75"). Sabo jumped 1.75 meters (5'8.75") in the high jump and then ran a career best 55 hurdles time of 10.64 seconds. He finished the day with a height of 3.05 meters (10'0") in the pole vault and a time of 3:28.76 in the 1000.
 
RECORD BOOK PERFORMANCES
Wolfe entered the Top 10 in the triple jump with his mark of 13.80 meters. He is currently third in program history. Cooper is tied for eighth in the high jump with his height of 1.88 meters. Linder joined the record books in the 55 meters as his time of 6.66 seconds is tied for tenth.
 
Up Next
The Dutchmen will be back in action next Saturday as they make the first of two trips this winter to Susquehanna University for the River Hawk Invitational.
