ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley field hockey team will begin their postseason journey tomorrow evening at second-seeded DeSales University in the Semifinals of the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom Championship. The Dutchmen qualified as the third seed with a 5-2 conference record.
The Dutchmen are 12-6 overall and ride a four-game winning streak into Wednesday's semifinal. LVC has won 10 of their last 13 games since a 3-1 defeat at then 20th-ranked William Smith on September 10. All three losses by the Dutchmen in that span have been by a goal. DeSales defeated LVC 4-3 in double overtime back on October 7 in the first conference game of the year. The Dutchmen also dropped a 2-1 decision to top-seeded Stevens Institute of Technology on October 15. LVC defeated fourth-seeded Arcadia University 3-1 last week. The Stevens and Arcadia semifinal game is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start in. Hoboken, New Jersey tomorrow while LVC and DeSales will get underway at 6 p.m. in Center Valley. The winners will play for the title on Saturday at the site of the higher seed.

LVC has outscored their opponents 45-29 and have a huge 170-108 advantage in penalty corners. Seven Dutchmen have recorded double-digit points led by
Gracie Johnson with 24 on nine goals, including four game-winning goals, and six assists.
Rebecca Lane has also scored nine goals for 18 points while
Lexi Ward adds 16 points on five goals and six assists.
Claire Weidenhammer has 15 points on six goals and three assists.
Alana Antonello and
Sorrell Long both have 11 points on four goals and three assists while
Emily Kline has 11 points on three goals and five assists.
Sarah Leidich has five points on two goals and an assist while
Jenna Angstadt adds four points on four assists.
Abby Rodenberger,
Amelia Taube, and
Amy Tinsman all have scored a goal this year while
Bridget Rutkowski has an assist. A strong defensive presence has been led by
Mel Mercado,
Madeline Reider, Kline, and Taube.
Bailey Kuhn has two defensive saves while Kline, Reider, and Taube have one each.
Lauren Jancsarics is having a great year as the final line of defense with 60 saves and 1.45 goals against average. The sophomore has four shutouts this season and is ranked 45th in Division III and second in the conference in goals against average.
The Dutchmen are looking to become the third third-seeded team to win the MAC Freedom Championship and the first since 2015 when Misericordia University upset Eastern University in the semifinals and then FDU-Florham in the final. A third-seeded team also won in 2005, the same year LVC advanced to the MAC Commonwealth Final as a third seed.
