ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley College football team was slated to finish seventh in the annual Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Preseason Poll of the 11 conference coaches that was released on Wednesday by the conference office.
The Dutchmen received 42 points after finishing seventh in the conference last fall with a 4-4 record. Defending champion Delaware Valley University was selected by all 10 other coaches to top the conference again. Stevenson University was second with 87 points while Widener University was third with 79 points. Lycoming College and Wilkes University were picked fourth and fifth respectively in their final year in the league. The Warriors earned 77 points while Wilkes had 65 points.
FDU-Florham was just ahead of the Dutchmen with 46 points. King's College was slated behind LVC in eighth with 40 points. Misericordia University was ninth with 31 points, Albright College was 10th with 24 points, and Alvernia University rounded out the poll with 14 points.
Lebanon Valley will open conference play in week three on September 17 at FDU-Florham. The first conference home game will be a week later on September 24 when the Dutchmen hosts Wilkes.
