ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley College men's basketball team announced AJ Catanzaro has been name the Judge John Walter Defensive Player of the Year for the 2021-22 season. This is the second season Catanzaro has earned the award after also receiving it in the 2019-20 season.
 
A senior exercise science major, Catanzaro often had the task of defending the opponent's top offensive player while usually giving up several inches. "AJ was a pleasure to coach" head coach Brad McAlester stated, "His effort and desire to stop offensive players earned him this award. There was never a day he didn't give 100% effort.
 
Catanzaro played in 24 games during the year and averaged 11.5 minutes per game. He grabbed 38 rebounds including 25 on the defensive end while recording seven steals and four blocked shots.
