ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley men's basketball's comeback fell just short against Hood College, 93-82, in a Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth matchup on Saturday, Feb. 5 at Sorrentino Gymnasium.
LVC trailed by as many as 26 in the first half as the Blazers connected on 11 three-pointers in the half. LVC battled back to cut the deficit to 49-34 at halftime.
LVC opened the second half with a 23-7 run to take a 57-56 lead on a three by
Zach Tucker at 12:40.
Collin Jones keyed the spurt with contributions from
Jaylen Reichner,
Luis Garcia, and Tucker.
The teams see-sawed over the next several minutes before Mason Wang, who led all scorers with 34 points, scored six straight to put Hood ahead to stay.
Jones led the Dutchmen with 30 points and 10 rebounds. Tucker contributed 23 points and five rebounds.
Inside the Numbers
- Jones now has three career games of 30 points or more and has surpassed 900 career points as a Dutchman.
- Tucker's 23 points are a season-high, scored on Senior Day when the Dutchmen recognized Tucker, Reichner, Alec Singer, and AJ Catanzaro.
- LVC's 82 points were its second-highest offensive output this season, surpassed only by 83 in the first meeting with Hood this year.
