Payton Lewis Named MAC Commonwealth Player Of The Week

ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley sophomore Payton Lewis was named the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth (MAC Commonwealth) Men's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday in a release by the conference office.
 
Lewis had a huge weekend to earn a spot on the All-Tournament Team at the National Beef Susquehanna Tip-Off Tournament averaging 21 points per game. He started the weekend with a career-high 30 points, four assists, and two rebounds in a 94-86 loss to host Susquehanna. The guard was 9-of-14 from the field including 6-of-9 from beyond the arc. He also knocked down all six free throw attempts. Lewis finished the weekend with 12 points, six rebounds, five assists, and three steals in a tough 72-68 defeat to Washington & Lee in the consolation game.
 
The weekly award is the first for Lewis in his career and first for the Dutchmen this season. He becomes LVC's first MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week since November 15, 2021 when Collin Jones earned the honor.
 
Lebanon Valley will be back in action tomorrow evening with an 8 p.m. tip against Elizabethtown College inside Sorrentino Gymnasium.
