Men's Basketball Comes Up Just Short Against Widener

ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley men's basketball came up just short in their comeback attempt, losing 61-55 to Widener in Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth play at Sorrentino Gymnasium on Sunday, Jan. 30.
 
Trailing 55-47 late in the second half, the Dutchmen battled back with six unanswered points, including a three-point play by Collin Jones to trim the lead to 55-53 with 2:32 to play.
 
Widener answered back with a Stephen Matlack free throw and driving layup by Jared Peters to put the game out of reach.
 
Jones led the Dutchmen with 24 points and seven rebounds, while Evin Timochenko contributed 10 points and six rebounds. Zach Tucker added nine points and nine rebounds.
 
Inside the Numbers
  • Tucker's nine rebounds tied his career best, set as a freshman.
  • LVC made 14 of 17 free throws led by TImochenko (6-of-7) and Jones (5-of-5).
Who's Next
Lebanon Valley (6-12, 3-8 MACC) travels to Messiah on Wednesday, Feb. 2 at 8 p.m. in MACC play.
