How It Happened
ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's Football team dropped a 33-27 2OT heartbreaker to FDU-Florham on Saturday afternoon at Arnold Field in Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) action. The Dutchmen dropped to 2-3, 1-2 MAC, while the Devils improved to 4-1, 3-0 MAC.

1st Quarter
- LVC got on the board on the opening drive of the game, as Braden Bohannon snuck the ball into the end zone from one yard out to cap a 12-play, 70-yard drive that chewed up 5:49 of the clock to give the Dutchmen the early 7-0 lead.
- Florham responded with a long drive of its own and got all the way to the Dutchmen's goal line, but on 4th and goal, QB Anthony Caserta tried to rush it in from a yard out, but Ben Sharer and Jacob Horton made a huge stop, and the Devils' 15-play, 75-yard drive resulted in no points.
2nd Quarter
- In the second quarter, Florham responded and evened the game off Caserta's nine-yard TD pass to Rori Sullivan. The drive was highlighted by Castera's 58-yard pass to Santavicca that put the visitors at the Dutchmen's 10-yard line.
- On LVC's ensuing drive, Bohannon was picked off by Rajoppi at LVC's 20-yard line and he returned it seven yards to the Dutchmen's 13-yard line, giving Florham excellent field position.
- The Dutchmen's defense, however, limited the Devils to a 29-yard field goal, putting the visitors up 10-7.
- After LVC was forced to punt on its next drive, Florham marched 55 yards in just 1:06, and it was capped off by Caserta's 23-yard TD pass to Godfrey, giving the Devils a 17-7 lead heading into halftime.
3rd Quarter
- To begin the second half, Caserta, the MAC's leading passer, continued to find wide receivers and the Devils capped a 10-play, 85-yard drive with Caserta's four-yard touchdown pass to Connor Perez, putting his squad ahead 24-7 early in the third.
- LVC got points on its next drive as Malaki Williams rushed six times in the 13-play drive, and Kevin Roberts knocked through a 24-yard FG attempt, bringing the Dutchmen to within 14 at 24-10.
4th Quarter
- The home squad shined in the fourth quarter, beginning with Ian Murhon's two-yard TD that capped an 11-play, 90-yard drive that took 5:57 to bring LVC to within a score at 24-17.
- The Dutchmen stopped Florham on its ensuing offensive possession, and later, in the final minutes of the fourth, Bohannon guided LVC 80-yards in just 3:54 and he snuck the ball in on 4th and goal from Florham's one-yard line to even the game at 24-24 late in the fourth.
- Next, on the Devils' possession, Caserta's pass was picked off by Adam Martin at LVC's 32-yard line. The clock ran out on the Dutchmen, however, and the game went into OT.
1st Overtime
- In the opening overtime, the Devils got the ball first and Dimedio knocked through a 27-yarder to give Florham a 27-24 lead.
- On the Dutchmen's possession in the first overtime, Roberts responded with a 39-yard FG to tie it and send it to a second OT.
2nd Overtime
- LVC got the ball first and got down to Florham's one-yard line, however on 1st and goal, Cuzzocrea forced a Williams' fumble and the Devils recovered the ball in LVC's end zone, resulting in a touchback.
- On Florham's possession, Caserta found Perez for a one-yard TD to give the Devils the wild 33-27 win.
Inside the Numbers
- Bohannon finished 18-for-29 for 208 yards. He added 24 rushes for 61 yards and two touchdowns.
- Williams ran 20 times for 117 yards.
- Tim Ervey added 12 rushes for 52 yards.
- Cameron Niemeyer caught eight balls for a team-high 78 yards.
- Jay Sisko had five receptions for 62 yards.
- Florham's Caserta finished 23-for-35 for 234 yards and four touchdown passes.
- Nicholas Santavicca rushed 24 times for 95 yards and he added three catches for 79 yards.
- Perez caught seven balls for 59 yards and a pair of TD's.
- Horton made a team-high 10 tackles for the Dutchmen, including five solo tackles.
- Dillon Estes added eight tackles.
- Horton, Evan Kutzler, and Ryan Kilgarriff each had one tackle for loss.
- LVC ran wild this afternoon and racked up 241 rushing yards.
- The Dutchmen led in total offensive yards at 455-360.
- LVC went 9-of-16 on third down and Florham was 6-for-12.

LVC returns to action next Saturday, Oct. 16, when the Dutchmen welcome Alvernia University to Arnold Field on Homecoming Saturday. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
