LVC Athletics Enshrines Hall of Fame Class of 2021

ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley College inducted its Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2021 on Friday evening, Oct. 15, enshrining five new individuals into its distinguished ranks.
 
Women's basketball's Andrea Hoover Castilow '11, men's basketball's Jimmy Curran '07, men's cross country's and track & field's Jeff Koegel '95, men's track & field's Nick Orfanella '07, and field hockey's Mimi Sullivan '08 were honored inside Sorrentino Gymnasium. In addition to the five inductees, LVC's 2010-11 women's basketball team was honored. The squad set a program record for wins in a season (28) and advanced all the way to the NCAA Elite 8.
 
Each inductee had a video introduction, which can be viewed below on the LVC Athletics' YouTube channel, aired prior to their acceptance. Each inductee's acceptance speech can also be seen below.
 
The purpose of the Lebanon Valley College Athletic Hall of Fame is to recognize those individuals who have made outstanding contributions to Lebanon Valley College Athletics. These individuals have helped bring recognition, honor, distinction, and excellence to Lebanon Valley College and its intercollegiate athletics program. Former athletes must have graduated at least 10 years earlier to be eligible for election.
 
Andrea Hoover Castilow '11 – Women's Basketball
One of just a handful of players to have her jersey retired, Andrea Hoover Castilow is one of the most decorated athletes in LVC history. As a junior, she earned Honorable Mention All-American by DIII News, was a First Team All-Mid Atlantic Region honoree by d3hoops.com, and was tabbed the Commonwealth Conference's Player of the Year.
 
As a senior, the co-captain was again named the Commonwealth Conference Player of the Year and earned WBCA/State Farm Coaches' All-America Team honors. Additionally, the Glen Rock native was tabbed a d3hoops.com Second Team All-American, a DIII News First Team All-American, a First-Team ECAC South All-Star, and the d3hoops.com Mid-Atlantic Regional Player of the Year. She ranked 10th nationally in assists per game in 2011 and holds the program record with 586 assists. She also became the ninth player in LVC history to score 1,000 points and guided the squad to the NCAA Elite 8.
 



 
Jimmy Curran '07 – Men's Basketball
Curran was a dominant force for the Dutchmen's basketball team in the mid-2000's. A member of the 1,000-point club, Curran was named to the NABC All-Region Second Team in 2007, was a d3hoops.com All-Region First Team honoree, and a First Team All-Commonwealth Conference member. Additionally, he succeeded in the classroom and was named the MASCAC Men's Basketball Scholar Athlete of the Year and was a CoSIDA Academic All-District honoree.
 



 
Jeff Koegel '95 – Men's Cross Country and Track & Field
A decorated cross country runner, Koegel was the 1994 MAC Individual Champion and was a three-time top-five finisher at MAC's. As a senior, Koegel took 36th at NCAA Championships and later earned First Team All-Region honors. Koegel also excelled in the classroom, as he was named an Academic All-American. In 2012, Koegel was named to the MAC Cross Country's All-Century Team.
 



 
Nick Orfanella '07 – Men's Track & Field
For LVC's men's track & field team in the mid-2000's, Nick Orfanella captured 10 conference medals throughout his time at the Valley. He's an all-time outdoor leader in the discus throw, an event in which he earned All-America honors in 2007, as well as the hammer, and he's ranked fourth in the shotput. In indoor action, he ranks second all-time in the weight throw and shotput. He's a former conference player of the year and a three-time conference champion. Back in 2007, Orfanella made an appearance at NCAA's and also won gold at ECAC's.
 



 
Mimi Sullivan '08 – Field Hockey
Sullivan ranks seventh in program history with 138 goals, seventh with 52 goals, and fourth with 34 assists. She's a two-time First Team All-American and also earned All-Region First Team honors twice while adding an All-Region Second Team recognition. In 2007, she was named to the NFCHA North/South All-Star Team, was the conference player of the year, and a member of the NCAA All-Tournament Team.
