How It Happened
HERSHEY, Pa. – Lebanon Valley narrowly fell to Bryn Athyn by a 3-2 margin on Friday night in non-conference men's ice hockey action. The Dutchmen slipped to 7-13-2, while the Lions jumped to 5-17-0. The Flying Dutchmen hosted their ninth annual Military Appreciation Night throughout the evening.
Much of tonight's action occurred in a wild third period. With LVC already down by a goal, Bryn Athyn's Isaac Anderson found the back of the net while the Lions were on the power play early in the third to increase the visitor's advantage to 2-0. In front of a huge crowd, the Dutchmen struck back and came to within a goal when
Skyler Pugh scored off an assist from
Tyler Romel.
Later in the period, LVC tied things up when
Mike Straub netted a goal off a rebound from
Justin Hall and
Tino Alunni. Bryn Athyn, however, scored what proved to be the game winner less than a minute after the Dutchmen tied things up, as Mike Perkett scored off a shot from the point from Vojtech Luza.
Down the stretch, the Dutchmen pulled
Matt Forslund with less than a minute remaining for an extra attacker, however LVC was unable to net the equalizer and the home team eventually fell 3-2.

LVC Hosts Ninth Annual Military Appreciation Night
As the program had done in past years, LVC auctioned off unique jerseys that each player wore for tonight's special game. Proceeds from the jersey auction, the silent auction, and t-shirt sale will be donated to the Keystone Wounded Warriors and the LEEK Hunting and Mountain Preserve, both of which are dedicated to aiding veterans and their families in the state of Pennsylvania. LVC has raised over $100,000 for the cause since the school's first Military Appreciation Night over nine years ago.
Playoff Push
After tonight's action, the Dutchmen sit in eighth place in the UCHC with three conference games left to play. Stevenson sits in sixth currently with 21 points, followed by Neumann (20 points) and LVC (18 points). The top-6 teams of the conference qualify for the UCHC Championship Tournament.
Who's Next?
LVC jumps back into UCHC action tomorrow when the Dutchmen travel to battle Elmira at 7 p.m.
