GLOUCESTER, Mass. – The American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) announced today that five members of Lebanon Valley's men's ice hockey team have been named Krampade All-American Scholars.
In order to be recognized as a Krampade AHCA All-American Scholar, a student-athlete must possess at least a 3.6 GPA each semester and participated in 40-percent of their school's contests in 2017-18.
"We are extremely proud of this group of student-athletes who have competed at the highest levels of the game on the ice and matched that performance in the classroom," said AHCA executive director Joe Bertagna. "The sport demands a great deal from these athletes so it is a great statement they make, individually and collectively, with their ability to attain this level of academic achievement."
The five men's ice hockey players who earned this prestigious honor include
Travis Hall,
Cole Hepler,
Nick Skerlick,
Felix Takacsi-Nagy, and
Bobby Wurster. All five student-athletes were named to the United Collegiate Hockey Conference's (UCHC) All-Academic Team, and Hepler earned Winter MAC Academic All-Conference honors as well.
A total of 832 Division II and III student-athletes earned All-American Scholar awards and a total of 1,310 players in all Divisions, up from 1,261 in 2016-17.
