Yasinski Named Head Athletic Trainer

ANNVILLE, Pa. - Chuck Yasinski has been hired as Lebanon Valley College's Head Athletic Trainer.

He will take over for Erin Ulrich as she is set to become a clinical assistant professor and the clinical education coordinator for LVC's athletic training program.

"I always wanted to work in the collegiate setting with a staff of athletic trainers who had the time and resources to really make a difference," said Yasinski. "I wanted to be part of the excitement of college athletics. With both my kids out of school and after talking with my wife, I knew that this opportunity was too good to pass up. One of the really cool things about working for Lebanon Valley is that I'll be essentially be working in the community in which I live. With Palmyra so close, LVC feels like home already. I'm really looking forward to starting my job, getting to know the staff and students, and helping injured athletes return to play. "

Yasinski comes to LVC after serving as the head athletic trainer for the Palmyra Area School District for the past decade. As the high school's lone athletic trainer, he provided sports medicine coverage at athletic events and supervised athletic training aides while evaluating, managing, and rehabilitating athletic injuries.

"If you'd ask me, I'd tell you the best job I've ever had was working at Palmyra," said Yasinski. "I got to see my own kids come through the school and play sports - a luxury many athletic trainers don't get. And through that connection, I got to know more people in the community and soon the relationships and friendships grew."

The longtime medical professional also has a familiarity with Lebanon Valley. He has assisted at a number of Flying Dutchmen sporting events over the years, including football camps and indoor track & field competitions.

He has been providing injury care, teaching injury prevention, and rehabilitating student-athletes for over 20 years total. Prior to his time at Palmyra, he worked for multiple schools in the area. Over a 12-year span, he worked as an athletic trainer at Hershey High School, Manheim Central High School, Cedar Cliff High School, and Waynesburg Central High School.

Yasinski earned his bachelor of science in health education from Pennsylvania State University where he gained experience as a student-athletic trainer before earning his masters of science in athletic training from West Virginia University. He is also a certified personal trainer, strength and conditioning specialist and is certified in first aid and CPR.
