NEWTOWN, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley College football and women's ice hockey teams garnered recognition from the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) on Tuesday, Nov. 18, as the conference office announced in a release that two student-athletes received conference weekly awards for their production this past weekend.
Junior quarterback
Logan Klitsch was honored for his stellar performance in Dutchmen Football's thrilling victory over Albright College, as he was presented with MAC Offensive Player of the Week honors. Junior goaltender
Mia Frisoni was also named the MAC Ice Hockey Defensive Player of the Week, following a strong effort during Lebanon Valley's women's ice hockey team's series split with No. 15 Wilkes University.
Klitsch accounted for all five touchdowns in Lebanon Valley's 38-35 rivalry win at Albright on Saturday, Nov. 15, securing the Dutchmen a berth in the Centennial-MAC Bowl Series. The junior threw for a career-high 321 yards and four touchdowns while rushing for 78 yards and another score. He then engineered a 10-play, 71-yard drive in the final 1:34 to set up the game-winning 25-yard field goal as time expired. Klitsch has received each of his two career MAC Offensive Player of the Week awards this season, as the quarterback was also recognized on Sept. 23. This marks the fifth weekly honor the Dutchmen have received from the MAC this fall.
Frisoni totaled 82 saves as LVC split its weekend with No. 15 Wilkes. She opened with 35 saves in a 4-3 overtime win on Friday, Nov. 14, including 27 stops in the final two periods and overtime. She followed with 47 saves in Saturday's 4-2 loss, recording double-digit saves in every period. Frisoni's first MAC Defensive Player of the Week award of the campaign marks the seventh the goaltender has received in her career. Lebanon Valley has now been presented with three conference weekly awards this season.
