Five Dutchmen Athletes Receive Conference Weekly Honors

10/6/2026 1:00:00 PM

NEWTOWN, Pa. – Five Lebanon Valley College student-athletes from four teams were recognized by the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) for their contributions during the past week of events, as the conference office announced its weekly honors in a release on Tuesday, Oct. 6.

Senior forward Claire Weidenhammer was named the MAC Freedom Offensive Player of the Week after playing a key role for LVC's field hockey team in a pair of wins. Junior Reagan Flynn was also chosen as the MAC Freedom Golfer of the Week, following his strong performance for Lebanon Valley's men's golf team at the Susquehanna Fall Invitational.

Dutchmen Women's Tennis garnered recognition as well, as senior Catherine Stone was honored as the MAC Freedom Player of the Week for her production in the win at Bryn Mawr College. Lebanon Valley's women's volleyball team also swept the MAC Freedom Weekly awards, as first-year outside hitter Hadley Sparks was honored as the Offensive Player of the Week and senior middle hitter Teaguen Reynolds earned Defensive Player of the Week accolades.

Weidenhammer scored three goals — including both game-winners — to lead Lebanon Valley's field hockey team to a 2-0 week. She began the week by scoring twice in a 4-1 win at Juniata College on Wednesday, Sept. 30. Weidenhammer then opened the scoring in a 3-0 victory at Arcadia University on Saturday, Oct. 3, to begin conference play. The senior has scored in six of nine games this season and ranks 11th in the nation in scoring. This is the third time this season that Weidenhammer has been chosen as the MAC Freedom Offensive Player of the Week, as she was also recognized on Sept. 8 and 15. The senior has now earned this honor six times in her career. Additionally, the Flying Dutchmen have been presented with four conference weekly awards so far this fall.

Flynn fired a career-low one-over-par 71 for LVC's men's golf team, which was two strokes off the program record, to finish fourth in a field of 75 at the Susquehanna Fall Invitational on Tuesday, Sept. 29. He carded an eagle and four birdies as the Dutchmen placed third out of 15 teams with a 298, the third-lowest score in program history. Flynn's first MAC Freedom Golfer of the Week honor of the campaign marks the third of his career. LVC has collected two weekly awards from the conference so far this season, as sophomore Brody Rafferty was honored on Sept. 8.

Stone remained unbeaten on the season, going 2-0 at the top flights in a 4-3 win for LVC's women's tennis team at Bryn Mawr on Saturday. She won number one doubles 6-4, then took number one singles 6-0, 6-1 to give the Dutchmen a 2-0 lead in the match. This is the second time Stone has been chosen as the MAC Freedom Player of the week this fall, as she also received the award on Sept. 22. The senior has now been honored by the conference three times in her career. Additionally, Stone has been presented with each of Lebanon Valley's two conference weekly awards during the campaign.

Sparks totaled 46 kills and 52.0 points, averaging 4.18 kills and 4.73 points per set in a 3-0 week for Dutchmen Women's Volleyball. She began the week with 14 kills and an ace in the 3-1 victory over King's College on Tuesday. Sparks also posted a season-high 20 kills with a .471 hitting percentage, two aces, and two assists in the 3-1 win over Gallaudet University on Saturday. Later in the day, the first-year tallied 12 kills and an ace in the 3-0 victory at Penn College. Additionally, she added 39 digs during the week. This marks the first time Sparks has been listed as the MAC Freedom Offensive Player of the Week during her career.

Reynolds recorded 14.0 blocks (1.75 per set), 15 kills, and four aces in just two matches for LVC's women's volleyball team. The senior started the week with a program-record of 12 total blocks in the win over King's. She also added two blocks, two digs, and five kills in the win over Gallaudet. This marks the first time Reynolds has been selected as the MAC Freedom Defensive Player of the Week this year, and it is the third time she has received the honor in her career. The sweep of the conference weekly awards marks the first two accolades the Dutchmen have earned this fall.
