10/13/2026 11:00:00 AM

NEWTOWN, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley College field hockey, women's tennis, and women's volleyball teams garnered recognition from the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) following strong performances during the past week of competition, as the conference office announced its weekly awards in a release on Tuesday, Oct. 13.

Senior forward Claire Weidenhammer was chosen as the MAC Freedom Offensive Player of the Week after delivering strong efforts in two victories for Lebanon Valley's field hockey team. Junior Laken Kelly also earned MAC Freedom Player of the Week accolades for LVC's women's tennis team for her contributions to a pair of wins. Additionally, sophomore libero Molly Thomas was named the MAC Freedom Defensive Player of the Week for her production in Dutchmen Women's Volleyball's last two matchups.

Weidenhammer totaled nine points on four goals and an assist in a 2-0 week for LVC's field hockey team. The forward recorded her second hat trick of the year, including the game-winner in the 12th minute, on nine shots in a 5-0 win at Marywood University on Wednesday, Oct. 7. Weidenhammer then added a goal and an assist in a 5-1 win over Delaware Valley University on Saturday, Oct. 10. This is the second straight week that the senior has been selected as the MAC Freedom Player of the Week, and it is the fourth time this season she has earned the honor. Weidenhammer has now received this award seven times in her career with the Flying Dutchmen. Additionally, Lebanon Valley has collected five weekly honors from the conference so far this fall.

Kelly posted two 6-0, 6-0 wins in a pair of 7-0 sweeps for the Lebanon Valley College women's tennis team. The junior clinched the match with a "double bagel" victory at number five singles in the win at Penn State Harrisburg on Wednesday. Kelly also won at number four singles in the victory over Neumann University on Homecoming Saturday, closing out the program's fall schedule. The junior's first MAC Freedom Player of the Week award of the season marks the second of her career, as she was also recognized last spring on March 17. Additionally, the Flying Dutchmen have been presented with three conference weekly honors this season, as senior Catherine Stone has also been rewarded for efforts twice during the campaign.

Thomas averaged 5.86 digs per set in a pair of close matches for Lebanon Valley's women's volleyball team. The libero recorded 16 digs and an ace in a 3-0 defeat at DeSales University last Wednesday. Thomas also recorded a season-high 25 digs, two assists, and one ace against Rowan, while LVC dropped a hard-fought 3-1 match on Friday, Oct. 9. This marks the first time the sophomore has been listed as the MAC Freedom Defensive Player of the Week during her career. The Dutchmen have now received three conference weekly awards so far this year. The program swept the honors last week when first-year outside hitter Hadley Sparks was named the Offensive Player of the Week, and senior middle hitter Teaguen Reynolds was chosen as the Defensive Player of the Week.
