VIDEO: A Tribute to Jim Monos

LEBANON, Pa. – Hundreds of family, friends, colleagues, ex-players, and members of the Lebanon Valley College community turned out to honor LVC head coach Jim Monos on the eve of his retirement at Fairview Golf Course on Saturday night, Jan. 30.

Following heartfelt remarks from director of athletics Rick Beard '90, M'92, a football standout under Monos and a former assistant coach on his staff, Joe Buehler '89, LVC's offensive coordinator and soon-to-be new head coach who also played under Monos, and sons Jim and Todd Monos, a special tribute video highlighting Monos' career on and off the field was unveiled for the program's all-time winningest head coach.

Monos followed the video with remarks of his own. He thanked his family, current and ex-colleagues, friends, and coaches for their support and friendship over his 44-year career that included 23 at Lebanon Valley College. Lastly, he thanked his players. He cited their love of the game and how it kept him young before receiving a standing ovation.

Monos and his wife, MaryEllen, will receive the 31st Hot Dog Frank Service Award at halftime of LVC's men's basketball game on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 6.
